Sam kind of whimpers and jerks in his sleep. He only does it occasionally though. Does anyone know what these little guys dream about that would make them cry?

My Dolly dreams about every night. She cries and tries to run and sometimes it seems to me that her breathing pattern is interrupted. Maybe I have a doxie with sleep apnea or something. At any rate, I just know she is dreaming about chasing the kitties in our common area. When by chance, she sneaks out the front door between our legs, I never have to worry that she would ever go out into the street. Her pattern is predictable. Out the door and under the fence to the common area of our townshouse. Last night both Sunny and Dolly escaped. Scared me about Sunny because I didn't know where he would go. Went after him first, buz I knew where Dolly would be. Both were captured and brought home safely. Bet Dolly dreamed about that adventure last night.

Wotan and the sisters dream often. I've noticed Sadie Mae dreaming of eating and drinking. Wotan is tough, so he dreams of running and barking ( which comes out muffled and cute), I had a guinea pig that used to dream: her little eyes and nose would twitch and she would make ity noises. I wondered what was so excitng in her life that she dreamt about it. Carrots and apples perhaps? http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/sleep.gif

I rarely notice any signs that my Maggie is dreaming - she plays really hard and sleeps eally soundly, so perhaps she dreams that she's sleeping!
Penny on the other hand is a real couch potato - lots of quick naps to build up the needed stamina to keep up with Maggie I guess. She often cries and/or moves in a quick, jerky manner in her sleep. I used to wonder what on earth a dog with such a great life could be having nightmares about, but now I think she dreams that Maggie is taking her ball, or her nylabone, or her supper, or her jerky treat, or her place on Bethie's bed, etc. .....<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm33.gif" border=0>

Rudy sometimes barks and moves his head wierd in his sleep. I imagine he is deaming of catching the pesky squirrel in the back yard (it sits on the top of the fence and clicks at Rudy) abd giving it his death shake. Maybe now he and Roscoe can gang up on the varmit and get it!!!
