We started a new agility class with Gerry Brown last Monday. I can tell you we already love it. If you don't know who Gerry Brown is.... watch the AKC National Agility Championships on Animal Plant on Feb. 12.... Gerry will be the guy that wins(not with a dachshund but that is ok)!! This is not his first time though. He has been on the National team more than once. The best thing about rubbing elbows with the fast and famous is that his number one rule is you gotta have fun!

We've seen Jerry and Sterling at a lot of the trials in DFW along with Marcus Topps and Juice who came in 2nd at Nationals. Both are very exciting to watch. I had some links to a video that showed Sterling and Juice both running the nationals course and they were overlayed on each other so you could see who was ahead at anyone time. Sadly the links no longer work... too bad because the difference between them at the finish line was less than a blink of the eye.

Festus owned by Karen Graham of La was the only Dachshund present at Nationals and he had a number of qualifying runs.:party6: (Festus is litter mate to Cindi's Wrinkles & also Merrys half brother) Not sure if Festus will be on TV.. since they always seem to focus on the bigger dogs.

All of the top dogs and handlers from Waco go down to Jerry's. He has just moved the classes around so that those actively involved in competition won't have to go on Mondays. We have folks driving to Austin from Waco and Temple on Tuesday and Wednesday nights now. Are you going to come to our NADAC trial at the end of the month? It is still open (closing 2-11), but is about 80% full as of last weekend. There will be lots of dachshunds and dachs mixes in the 8" class. We have Earthdog the 25th and 26. Since that is my first love (and I am the Test Secretary), we will be there. The girls are not really ready for competition at this poing. Due to the issues we had with stickers in the TAG field, we are having to start over. I am not too worried. We may never compete but the girls are having fun.
