Guys someone needs to get to these pups. The girl is altered thankfully, but who knows who could try to purchase that male.

This is what she says:
Two loving longhaired Dachshunds 4 sale:
I live in South Carolina. In the Rock Hill area. I have put my dogs in the papers with no luck in finding them a new home. I have one male and one female. The female is about 3 years old and the male is 1 and 1/2 years old. The female is a tan color and has been fixed. The male can be bread, but I have no papers for them. He is black and tan. They are very lovable. They are also good with children. I am asking a small price for them. Only $100 each. If you are interested please respond.

I would be more than happy to go pick them up in Rock hill thats only a little over a hour from me, but i cant spring the $200 fee right now with all my dogs annual vaccines comming up etc, but count me in for transport if need be. Maybe someone could talk her into turning them over to rescue so they would have good homes???

Keep up the good work on the acme board maybe she will realize putting the dogs in rescue is the best thing. I hope she decideds before someone snatches up that un-neutered male for $100 bucks ...grrr!

Lets see what we can do. Just got here via a private email from Jen. I can sure foster the girl, she is about the same age as Greta and Baylea. The male would need to go to a spay/neuter (inexpensive) clinic ASAP.
Anyone else up for this?

A lil UPDATE:
I called the lady Amanda she said that the reason they are getting rid of the dogs is because they are expecting their 2nd child and they want to get rid of them before the baby's born. I told them about the CPBR and DRNA she doesnt seem to intrested she says her nephew might take them I gave her my name and # told her to call me if that didnt work out. I doubt i hear from her http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif

darn....Well thanks so much for trying. I appreciate all of you that foster and rescue so much. I wish I could get more involved but right now, getting the word out and donating food to our local all-breed will have to do.
You all have such big hearts, bings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.

Hi all:
Thinking perhaps I might get somewhere by sneaking in the back door, I emailed the woman.
It is obvious from her response to Jen and lack of response to me that having anyone "rescue" these dogs is far from her intentions.
Making a fast buck, perhaps?
By now she knows Wee Three (Jen, Jennifer and I) are standing by, right across the state line, waiting to help.
Thanks Krista, it might have turned out differently, you never know,

I've also gotten no response from the family that wants to give away their 14-year-old dachshund because they have no room for her in their "fast-paced life." If they don't want any money for her, why not surrender her?
I'm thinking of changing my tactics in the future; instead of asking people to surrender their dogs, I'll just say I want to take the dog. The surrender form? Oh! I had it, but my dogs ate it!

I know how you feel. I have offered to do transport 4 times in about the last 3wks and everytime they change their minds or they cant decide what they want. A couple times it was even supposed to be URGENT and then the people act like they want to wait to see if Joe on the corner will give them $50... its so annoying. Have your read my post with the online classified ad...i guess that is the next mission. Im not gonna pay a miller $150 to pad their pocket though... so just guessing some OTHER miller will probably buy the dog for the $150 figuring they might get another litter or 2 of of the dog IF its a female if a male they still have lots of puppy making years... arg!!
