New York State Meetup 7/15

I am planning a NY State Meetup in July 15. Max 200, agility course maker, has offered use of their property for free. It is located East of Syracuse, NY. Anyone wish to help plan please private message me. At this time, I am in contact with a few stores for donations of prizes and have purchase some myself. If you wish to come please let me know so I can try to tally up a count for the food. There will be no cost to set up a table nor for admission.

If it rains we will move in doors.
Basically, it is a meetup/rescue fundraiser. There will be weiner races, costume contest, and agility course. There will be prizes and a raffle (all money raised to be split amongst the rescue groups.) The event is free and there is no charge to set up booths. Food will be available to purchase.

There are RV and camp sites available at Max 200 and I believe they are free for those attending the event.

There are other places in the area in Syracuse and Waterloo. You would have to ask if they are pet friendly.

Also, Max 200 charges a fee of $15.00 a night to stay there on their grounds.

I've been searching for rescues before around the capital region where I'm from, with no luck. I did copy some e-mails I found of people from NY who are in charge of dacshund rescue clubs (?) Here they are:

I just added the raffle prizes and poster pages to the website. Still waiting to hear from all of the stores. I will be sending out letters to a bunch of papers, tv stations, etc. with the Wiener Fest info.

I was just thinking about this today!! I think we are going to be able to make it. How far is it from Syracuse? How many people are you expecting to show up? It's going to be so much fun ... all these doxies in one place. I am going to have to charge the batteries in every piece of electronic equipment I have!!!

From exit 39 on the thruway (690) it is about 20 minutes to Max 200. Get off at Exit 40.

* When exiting the toll booths, make a right onto Route 34 S to the first traffic light. Just past the Days Inn.
* Make a right at the light onto Route 31 W. Stay on Route 31 W, through the town of Weedsport, through another traffic light.
* At about 2 miles you will cross Centerport Road on the left and Townline Road on the right.
* You will then pass a storage facility on the right and our building will be
the next LARGE brown building on the right.

The Wienerhausens and I will be there. I think my husband might dare to show his face- he was intrigued by my pics from Ohio and seemed interested in going to this one!

I am very exciting. However, it is supposed to be very hot this weekend.. in the 90's. Anyway, I am setting up a screen room, tent, 2 small pools, water dishes, etc. I will probably set up a tent too. Maybe some fans for those who may need it. We can always go inside if needed.

It was so much fun meeting everyone and everyone's doxies are so adorable! It was a good turn out for our first meet up! I only wish a Doxie rescue would've been there! Perhaps we can get someone next year. Will post some pictures tomorrow.
