For those in Mississippi who have always wanted to try out Field Trials or Earthdog.. I got this from another list I am on today
It is official, Brian Owen has received notification that The Mississippi Dachshund Club (http://www.msdachshund.org/index.html)has been official recognized by the AKC. They will begin this spring by having their necessary matches. They will be starting out with Conformation & Obedience, they are planning on a small field trial & earthdog to follow shortly there after.
Below you will find their new website info. Please go and look at it and if you like let them know we're proud of their hard work to get this done. Whoopeee, another Field Trial in the South! When they have their trial it will be near Jackson, the grounds are completed except for cutting in the lanes and moving rabbits in from the surrounding grounds. Betty in Edwards has been very helpful to them in getting the grounds workable.
