Hi everyone. Long time since we've been by here! I trust everyone is doing well?
How's my veggie friend in Canada doing? And Pamela, how are the working weiners - still keeping everyone at the office in line?
We are doing great here in Dallas. Just came back from Maui to find it pretty darn cold here! Rooby is shopping for a sweater - one that fits her weinerish figure. Anyone know of a source for Dachshund sweaters? I was going to order one from Dachsie Delights, but they aren't offering them right now. By the way, Rooby just got one of their custom 'Hug A Dox' harnesses and it's great.
If anyone knows of a Weiner Sweater source, please let us know!

Wow Hope, Long time no see!!
Well I just discovered a quick easy way to make a sweater in a pinch with a cold snap we had this weekend. I am making some coats, but don't have them done yet for Rudy and Roscoe.
Take a old pair of sweat pants and cut off the legs. The gathered ankle will be the neck-hole
cut holes for the front legs to pop through.
mark where you need to have pee/access and cut out an area for that. It will cover teh chest and top half of tummy, but the groin area will be open, and so no rear leg holes are needed. This worked very easily for me in less than 10 minutes. Sure, its not a fashion statement, but its warm and works in a pinch.
this is a site for custom made coats that look great on dachsies! http://www.horsecreations.com

Wotan is yet too tough to care about such silly girly stuff (in reality, it hasn't gotten cold and wet enough to make him squeamish...

Rooby! Long time, no see! Wo, it might not have gotten cold and wet enough where you live, but up here in NE PA we have SNOW today! Yes that dirty "S" word! Hello? Is it not only October 10th? And we have snow already???
I have a feeling it's going to be a long hard winter, so Rooby, if you find a nice sweater, let us all in on your secret. Maybe Mickey can get a down parka or something this year!
Good to see you again Hope!

Krista, with your sweat leg idea, all I need now is one of Pamela's tube sock neck warmers and Rooby will be the rage of the fashion scene!! I'll keep it in mind.
And Sonja? Here in Dallas last week it was 94 one day, and 48 the next!! My Rooby cannot tolerate these flucuations!!
Karen, I got Rooby a polartec coat from Drs. Foster & Smith last year, but when I put it on her now she freezes and refuses to move an inch. I'm thinking a lighter sweater may be the trick (or a sweat leg if push comes to shove).
Jen, I'll check out the site you mentioned. Fortunately, it's not staying real cold yet so we have time to shop (real cold for us is in the 50s, mind you!!).
Great to see all of you again! We'll try to be better about keeping in touch. Where's Amy and Owen???

I just ordered a sweater from one of our BB members. It's black and tan and has Pluto's name embroidered on the back. She put it in the mail today and I'll have it in a few days. It looks adorable and since it's been cold here I'm looking forward to getting it. Her e mail is chitticksharon@mb.sympatico.ca.

Wow, that sounds nice. Does she do different colors? You'll have to post a pic of Pluto once you get the sweater!

Know what you mean Hope, we went from air conditioning to heat in one day here in Texarkana. Wheeler has been hibernating under the covers and I have to drag him out in the morning. The wires are in their element. They grow their own sweaters.

Roobyrocks, I'll post a picture just as soon as I get the sweater.
Wireweiners, it's nice to know that the wires grow their own. Do they need to go to the groomer or can you groom them yourself?
