I really dont know what to do with my Pogy anymore. He smells! I try not to wash him to often since i know it isnt good for his skin. When i was him i do wash his bed also, but a couple of days after i wash him he smells its like he has BO...what can i do about this? Is it his food? Right now he is taking Eukanuba Lamb and rice...is there any recomendations that i should change his food and into what?
Thanks

Eukanuba is a low level food- you can DEFINITELY do better. We have tons and tons and tons of good info in the feeding forum archives- please do take a look so it isn't rehashed. But healthy skin and coat are VERY closely related to diet- and because you're not feeding a high quality diet (but ARE feeding a high cost diet)-you have no reason not to switch. :)

When Cocoa came to me she was on Eukanuba Puppy food. I switched her to Royal Canin Puppy, and now she is on Nutro Ultra. I've heard good things about Natural Balance and Nature's Recipe.

My two furkids are adults and they've been on Wellness, then Natural Balance Reduced Calorie (which is easier to find). I'm not sure about puppies, but check the feeding thread in DBB and you'll find many references about good-quality food for your puppy. My vet suggested Science Diet, but the regular Science Diet is all corn and many dogs are allergic to corn - that's why I tried Wellness (Fish and Sweet Potato) originally, because Lexie and corn don't get along well.

I'll stick with Natural Balance R. C. until I find something healthier, easier to find, and more reasonably-priced, I guess, or if my guys become allergic to something in N.B. So far, Natural Balance is working very well.

You might also read labels on food you're considering, and do some research. The internet has a lot of good information about dog food - as does the section in this web site devoted to feeding!
