Merry, Bart and Badger and I will be going, but just for the field events (Field trial and earthdog)

The show is being sponsored by the club in Atlanta but the Conformation show, Obedience & agility will be at Calloway Gardens, South west of Atlanta, and the Field events will be up near Dalton, Ga.

Here is the link with all the information

We went last year when the National Specialty was in Houston and had a BLAST!!

I want to go SOOOOO bad. I am a field trial and earthdog junkie!!!! We just cannot afford the trip this year. Please don't feel you will be alone. Field events are great for meeting people. They are very warm and open during these events. Just let people know it is your first time and they will warm right up to you and you will learn so much. We love to get others hooked on the sports. Please do not fret if Sophie does not do much your first time. My Sophie did nothing until her 2nd or 3rd event but now...less than 2 years later we are already in Masters class...and we only get 2 or 3 weekends a year. There are pictures of her recent events in dachshie events section. Oh...one thing... Earthdog Test and Field Trials happen rain or shine! Just about the only thing to stop one is lightening and often they will just delay until the lightening is over. If you decide you want to keep doing Earthdog and want to try Field Trials (which you can decide up until about 6:50 am the morning of the trial) invest in some *GOOD* water proof hiking boots and rain gear.

I'm so looking forward to it. I can handle a little rain and mud. Grew up on a farm.

I hope you are right about people being friendly. I've been around some here in the doggie field that aren't. I'm sure Sophie will have a blast!!!
