Hi All:
Can anyone help Sus? She gave me permission to crosspost her email to me:

It's my two boys on the front page of my homepage Hon. Holmes and Watson. I have had them since they were pups. You can see them on my site as well as learn a bit of their personality. They are 3+-, have been altered, tattooes and chipped. UTD on shots and are on Heart Guard. I got them from a backyard breeder who had a really nice set up...nice enough that I didn't have a case and it was before I joined /or even knew some of the rescue groups out there.
Anyway, they are really bonded to each other and I really want to see them placed together. I don't think they would do well seperated. they eat, sleep play and get into trouble together.
I have been looking a LONG time and finally came to the cold hard fact that I was not going to be able to fill their need myself! Sigh.
Well, I need to scoot...I am getting Jpeg ready to move on Saturday to her new forever home and I am fighting a bad case of bronchitis as well...when it rains it pours! Sus

You can see these two cute little fellas at Sus's Rescue page:
http:www.swiftwaterfarms.com/swiftwater/p10.htm.
Give the page some time to load. They are about the 4th and 5th dogs down.
Unlike poor Queenie and her friends these guys are happy, healthy, all vetted up and ready to go. I can understand why Sus wants to keep them together but that is why finding them a home is a bit of a problem.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks,
Roxane

Hi Shelley:
Have missed seeing you on the board. Susie Carter is webmaster for the egroup North Carolina Rescue. I'm not sure _exactly_ where she is. I have emailed her for info.
I'll get back to you when I hear from her. She has been using her husband's laptop since her monitor crashed. So it may take awhile.

Shelley:
Susie is in Wake Forest, NC. Heard from her late last night. She only has use of the laptop in the evening until she gets a new monitor. She again expressed her gratitude for anything we can do to help these guys find a loving home. They don't really need fostering, she's been doing that. They need a permanent home. Wish I had the room, but 2 little guys in addition to what is already here. It just wouldn't work. The best I can do is get the word out. I am sure there is a good place for them somewhere.

Has she listed her pair on Bennys DRWP page? That is the best exposure out there for dachs in need. It only takes a couple of minutes to submit a bio and I am pretty sure you will get a few hits. I'll also see if Kay in NC has any apps that might want a pair of cuties. Andrea- can you check your NC reps too.

Hi Shelley:
Since she is a multi pet rescue, the answer is probably not. I am not sure which site you mean. If you will give me the URL, I will pass it along to her. I have mentioned both DRNA and CCDR to her. The last correspondence I had with Kay, she was up over her ears with lots of adoptables and few homes. Maybe her situation has changed. I wanted to come here first for our members' recommendations before sending her elsewhere.
Thanks Shelley.

Guess where I live? Wake Forest, NC. Please let me know what I can do to help her out. I work with a multi-breed rescue in Raleigh and will pass on the info. We often have people looking for small doggies and we usually have a lot of lab mixes. I'd be more than willing to help out in any way I can. However, with Betty starting heartworm treatment next week, I'm not really in the position to foster, but it doesn't seem like that what she needs.

The website I think was being refferred to was DRWP.net. Anyone can post dachsies that need a home on that site. When I was looking for a dachsie, I checked that website daily and there was a lot of doggies that got homes from it. So, I would highly reccomend that she post on it.

Please let me know how I can help her out. I'll start asking around about potential homes.

Hi Jennifer:
Bless your heart. Got the page, will pass it on to Sus. Here is her email address. Would you get in touch with her? I think it would give her morale a boost to know there was someone _close by_ who will help to work on this.

Thanks Roxanne. I sent an email to Susie to see how I can help her. Watson and Holmes are real cuties. I'll also send the post to April, who is the closest CCDR rep to Wake Forest. I've also forwarded the info to the director of the rescue group I work with. Hopefully, we'll be able to help her find a home for those guys.

Are you also in NC Roxanne?

Boy it sure is hard to type with a dachsie asleep on your lap. Betty is laying in my lap and has her head on the desk. Everytime I move, she looks up at me like "Mom, can't you see I'm sleeping" How cute..

Jennifer:
Oh boy, I made a type-o on Sus's address. It should read:
susiecar@mindspring.com
I left the "r" out of spring. Gee I am so sorry.
I'm in the Hendersonville/Asheville area.
