Anyone know where I can buy some items on the cheap? Thanks!

You can build jumps and make weave poles with PVC. See the following link for instructions. This site has not been updated lately and a lot of the links don't work, but many do:

JC Penney has a children's tunnel that has been on sale at their on line store. E-bay has many agility equipment listings, but you do get what you pay for. It is cheaper for me to be a member of the local agility group and use their contact equipment!

Be careful.. once you start you will have a whole yard full of stuff !!

Contact equipment gets expensive. But tunnels, jumps and weave poles can be had pretty inexpensively.

I've built my own jumps with PVC and screws. Not the most attractive jumps but I only need one jump height.

Afforable Agility.com (http://www.affordableagility.com/agilityinbag.htm) is a great sight and they have good tunnels. I bought a 10 ft tunnel from them and it is just as good as the ones at trial and we use at school. The kids tunnels are ok if you are just getting started but they won't hold up to doggie claws running through and your dogs can't 'bank' on them when they are running a curve.

This site also has plans for home made jumps and weave poles http://members.cox.net/jw791/baxagility2.htm

PetsMart (http://www.petsmart.com/) also carries some equipment now... go there and search on 'agility'

I also bought a teeter base from these folks http://www.weave-poles.com/ and am very pleased with it. If you make your own contact equipment like this... for the teeter I had to by a 2" x 12" x 12' plank.
You will have to paint the surface with a mixture of paint and sand (construction sand) for traction.

e-bay is also a good source... do a search on Dog Agility. That's where I found the teeter base originally. I buy a lot of things on e-Bay but only from people with real high feedback ratings. And as Rena said.. you get what you pay for... if something is dirt cheep it's either used of not worth the money.

We build all of our own stuff, luckily chris is good with wood and such. We had actually thought about building items and selling them when we realized how much people paid for equipment who were doing agility in one of our classes. We made everything to AKC specifications, and have plans to make new equipment for this spring, since we left alot of the PCV items behind at our old house.

We're cheapos those and i would never pay for any of the equipment from anyone. But that's just how we are, and luckily I have someone whose good with it.

Good Luck,
Krystle
