As my countryman, Eddie Izzard would say "You mean I've wiped the Internet??". Having problems with my home computer and have lost my password. Asked for it to be sent again but don't trust this computer to show me what it is. Should I re-register?
Confused

Hi Shelbie's Mum,

I'm sorry to hear of your computer woes. I've sent your password via e-mail... please let me know if it arrived. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks,

A non-dachsie question, Shelbie's Mom/Mum...Have you ever seen the Divine Eddie perform live? He was in Chicago last winter and we had box seats. I nearly fell out. Several times. I honestly think he is one of the funniest creatures who ever lived!

Hi! No unfortunately I haven't. You lucky thing for seeing him. Was it pretty much the same as the videos? When he did the Baby Jee birthday/christmas present, did he do the all night garage "...and a sack of charcoal" as one of the presents because there's a bit where he says how they don't sell charcoal at American garages so I wondered if he changed it? Every time Shelbie's ears blow back when we go for a walk I can hear Sean Connery saying that she can go at the outside of the ark for the pictures. (You know quite a few people on this board are now scratching their heads now!!)

Hmmm..I guess I am scratching my head right now. I wil ask, how is the Freddie Mercury statue holding up, and do they still have the stamp...long live Queen! I had seen them at least 7 times when they came this way, and ya know, they are still my favorite band!

Hmmm...am I dating myself! I was 13 the first time I saw them, and I am now 37 and still listen to their music.

Long live Freddie!

Your probably going to tell me you were never a fan,...

Whoops, was I being too obscure?! See if you can get the Eddie "Glorious" video and all will be explained! Worth it for a completely different view of our royal family ("she's not going is she?") I hate to admit it but I was never really a Queen fan although I did think they were brilliant on Live Aid. I think at the time you mention I was wearing skirts with huge waistbands, platform shoes, a pencilful of eyeliner and was heavily into Northern Soul. Weren't the teen years great!

Wow! I have clearly missed out on a lot of Vintage Eddie! The only video I've ever seen was actually Eddie's HBO special, "Dress To Kill." But I've been tempted to buy the earlier videos from Eddie's website, which is hilarious in and of itself. The bit that totally cracks me up is the one in which Eddie goes to France, armed only with his school French--and ends up in the Bois de Boulogne, having "conversations" with French people about the mouse who is on the table and the monkey who is in the tree. By the way, he wore "male" clothes in his performance here--along with plenty of eye makeup. And he repeated his "cunning use of flags" bit about colonialization.

As for Queen and Freddie Mercury, I love them too, and am 'way older than both of you! I use my Queen tape for power walking--it's positively inspirational!! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

P.S. What is "Northern Soul?" Remember--we are Yanks and not privy to the finer points of British pop!

I'd forgotten that one and started laughing as I remembered him walking near a tree and telling the monkey to get up the tree and the mouse to get under the chair!! I would really recommend "Glorious" - I've watched it so many times and it still made me laugh - another taster - Achilles and his heel "You mean I'm called Achilles Mum and I've got an Achilles heel? Is this a joke?" Oh, and the boys watching the girls playing hopscotch ....Anyway, Northern soul is actually from over your side of the pond. It started in the late sixties and its all Chess etc soul records that didn't do well er anywhere really until some funny looking people in the North of England started playing them at "All Nighters" in places like Wigan. Soon they got their own style of dancing and a craze was born! One of my favs which I think people might know was "Use your head" by Little Anthony and the Imperials - you could do a really good "spin" to that! Shelbie is looking up in complete puzzlement but then again she only likes Bavarian Oompah music!! I shall always picture Weinergal powerwalking humming "Another one Bites the dust"!!

Last night, Eddie won two of the three Emmy Awards for which he was nominated! He even beat out Cher!!

You've convinced me: I'm going to buy "Glorious." Life is short--get as many laughs as you can, I always say!!

Hurrah!!!!! Good for Eddie!

I look forward to discussing Helen of Troy, Robin Hood and Maid Mar-I-on, toasters etc etc with you very soon - oh and why they don't have charcoal in American petrol stations of course!!! Enjoy
