This is a crosspost from the ww. (Author is Barbara mom to a pm rescue dachsie from PMR).
Hello - I as usual was just reading the pet adoption ads. Here in Massachusetts under the Boston Terrier Rescue Group there is a "tiny dachsund mix" listed. They say she has so many sores on her body she cannot be touched! I feel so bad and don't know what to do! Could someone in the DRNA get in touch with these people? It sounds like they are going to put her down. She is 7 or 8 yrs old. I noticed another place in CT put down a younger Female last week. The Rescue group's email is Roieg@adelphia.net and phone is 508-224-5950. Please, doxie rays for this one!

Thanks for posting this, Krista. I've copied the post to the DNRA e-group and also sent a copy to CCDR. Hope someone in New England can help this poor dog.

OOPS!! Barbara posted the wrong contact number in her message that I copied here. Here is her post from today with the correct info
Please-are there any DRNA or CCDR people out there? I posted this yesterday, and someone was kind to help me. There is a very sick "tiny dachsie mix" listed at the Boston Terrier Rescue Group in Plymouth, Ma. She is covered with sores and has a very raw spot on her paw. I don't think they are going to keep her long. Unfortunately, last night I listed the wrong contact person-it is Ann at (401) 468-4377. Please, can someone help this dog?? I have been up all night worrying. Please let me know. I am emailing the Boston Terrier group now. Thanks, Barbara

Thanks to Pamela, I'm sure her getting the word to the right people made this happen!

Update: Thanks everyone who helped-especially the MA doxie angel, Jude Wade. I just got an email from the Boston Terrier Rescue Group. Jude has contacted her and offered help. They are calling the little one Peaches because she is cream and apricot. They don't know what other breed she is besides Doxie. She weights 11 lbs. and is only about 3 years old. The negative things is she has been abused and isn't housebroken. (Sounds familiar to me!) They thought they might have someone to take her but don't know if she'll go along with the mess in the house business. Hmmm---what's another few piddles and piles in the kitchen a day??? No-I can't even think it--I'll be divorced and then I'll be looking for homes for MY dogs! Oh, well, I feel good now that she is being helped. Thanks everyone!

Good news, Krista. I am sure Pamela's help, helped.
I would not want to see people discouraged because a dog is considered "not housebroken". Baylea's former (grr) owners told me she was not potty trained to the outside. It was the owners who were not trained. A few months and a lot of patience later we have and adoptee who has house manners. Isn't hypocritical of us as _imperfect_ humans to expect our pets to be _perfect_? Wow!http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/rolleyes.gif
