I have a smoothy and I have heard that the fur on their paws should be cut or cleaned out. Is this true?

Well, I don't know if it helps him or not, but I do cut the hair in between Beau's paw pads. I heard that it can hurt them when it grows too long, and his grows a lot(like out past his pad)...but I think it is so long bc he is a LH. Otherwise, for the smoothys, I don't know how much of a problem it causes.
Beau's hair just grows in the weirdest places--I just had to cut his butt hair again last week..hehe.

I don't see the need on a smooth. I do trim Kipper's but he is a long hair.

I have 2 smooths and I don't see any long hair between thier toes that could be cut or cleaned out.
Could you post pictures of your pupper so we can see the hairs you are referring to?

Don't think it's needed on a smoothie. Every once in a while though make sure you check between their pads and make sure they have not picked up any gunk or mud that might lead to sores. Especially important if you have a digger :D

I have two smoothies...and yes, I do trim the hair between the toes whenever I dremel their nails. I just think it looks a lot better. I use a rounded end safety scissors. My girl gets nail polish too:D
