I really want one of mine to compete but am a beginner and don't know where to get started?? My boy is extremely athletic and eager to please. Any advice? I am in Amelia area VA. Thanks!

One place to go is http://www.dogeventsonline.com/ Select your state and you will see a list of events and also clubs in Va. You can register for a temp membership and you can view the info about the clubs and hopefully find one near you. Having a good instructor is essential so if you see a find a few in your area go and watch a couple of times. Also.. since you will also see a list of upcoming events ... go watch and ask questions of some of the folks there... most agility folks are more than happy to share info as long as it's not right before they are ready to head into the ring!

Agility is a blast!! Even if you never compete it is a great way to bond with your dog and just have fun :)

I think the Massaponax Kennel Club in Fredericksburg does. They did an agility demo last fall at the 25th anniversary of the Prince William County Shelter.

Thanks guys, I think most events are in Northern VA and that is just too far for me. I am out in a very rural area in south central VA and there just does not seem to be many if any events out here. I guess I need to start some.. LOL
