Hi DC!
Many of you will recognize my name as the webmaster for The Dachshund Rescue Web Page. Still others will recognize me as the listowner for lovedachs@egroups.com.
I'm writing to you in my capacity as both.
Those of you who remember dachsies@riva.com will no doubt recognize Toni Lantto's name. I'm afraid i'm here to give you some bad news about her. The link I've provided with this message will give you the details of what has happened, but the short version is that poor Toni had a house fire on Thanksgiving morning that took the lifes of all of her beloved dachshunds. She's lost everything, but the loss of her pups has hit her especially hard.
I've been spearheading an attempt to take up a collection for Toni and her family, to help them get on their feet again. I've offered the resources of The Dachshund Rescue Web Page's secure server as a means to collect funds to help her. Because of the holiday weekend, I've not collected a whole lot, but every little bit will help her, at this point.
Those of you who know Toni know that if any one of us were in the same situation, Toni would be one of the first ones to have her checkbook out. If you would like to help Toni with a small donation, please visit the drwp "dollars for dachshunds" page and use the form there to make your donation. I've made arrangements with the DRWP's bank to direct transfer the funds to Toni's bank account.
