Some birthday gift!!!

I just had to share this moment with all of you. Today was my birthday. Lucky me--a group of good friends took me out to a great dinner at my favorite restaurant. Wine, terrific food, happy conversation (NO POLITICS!). Then came the gifts--VERY lucky me. Lovely presents, thoughtful and beautiful.

The last gift was an envelope. Inside was a very substantial check made out to Dachshund Rescue and a note saying, "For your doggies." I don't think I've ever gotten a gift I loved more. What a friend, huh? Boy, it just made my day! Had a hard time keeping myself from bursting into tears over the tiramisu!!
