Today I had to help my Norbert Obadiah (aka Norby) to the rainbow bridge. My heart is just broken. We had lots of vet intervention, but all the vets concluded it was just old age and his body giving out. :crying:

I can't believe my loyal protector and friend is gone. Even though he isn't a full dachsie (only part, I think) I know people here understand.

Norby enjoying the sun on a good day a while ago.

Norby stretched out on the floor.

One of Norby's favorite activities, diggin' in the yard.

Heartbreaking to hear that Norby had to leave for Rainbow Bridge. I know that it made it easier for him because you were there to help him.

Lighting a :candle: for Norby - the newest little . You shared your love with him and gave him a happy rest of his life. He'll always be in your heart and someday he'll meet you again at the bridge. :hearts:

I am so sorry...I know he had a wonderful life with you. One of the hardest things we are called to do is help them to the Bridge when the time comes. He knew how much you loved him and I know he's happy and healthy now waiting for you......:hug2: :hug2: :hug2:

It's never easy to say goodby but you did your best and was his buddy with him to the end. They may not be by our side but their spirit lives on in our memories and our hears.

I am so sorry to hear about Norby. I know how hard it is. Take comfort in knowing that his life was good and he was very loved and he knew it. He did not leave this world unloved. Sylvia Brown stated in one of her books that when we pass on our family comes to meet us but they must stand back and wait because all of our animals come to us first and are so excited to see us again. The thought of them all surrounding me so excited to see me makes me smile. Death always frightened me before but that one sentence gave me a peace about it.

Our condolences on your loss. I know how you feel. My wife and I still look out to where Rahja liked to rest and keep an eye on things. We still find ourselves getting food ready for her also, then remember she's at the bridge. Just have to think on the many fond memories.
