Hello, I am new here. My Greta passed away 6 months ago so I can't introduce any of my dachsies cause she was the only one I had. She was 18 when she passed away. The vet said she was just old. Greta was a red smooth female and I loved her dearly. I had her since I was 10 yrs old. I do have a 2 yr old daughter her name is Jessika. I am looking for a new member to our family. I want a puppy because I want him/her to grow up with Jessika. I recently saw a picture of a dachshund called a "Piebald". I fell in love with this color and I am presently looking for one. If anyone knows where I might be able to find one I would appreciate it. I live in Indiana so I would like to find one around here if that is possible. Anyway thanks for letting me join!

Hi gottahaveadachsie and welcome to the board http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wavey.gif

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/crying.gif

Perhaps some of the others here know of a reputable breeder in your area . . . where are you located?

We really look forward to seeing you get a new puppy and look forward to watching him/her grow up.

Lili is an 8 month old piebald and adorable so I can identify with your yearning for one. She came from a breeder in Columbus, Ga. Good luck in locating one a little nearer.

Augie barks hello!

Sorry for your loss, my first doxie passed when she was 15. She was always there when I was growing up.

Piebalds are cute, but your gotta love those big red smoothies (augie)<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm2.gif" border=0>

Welcome, Gottahaveadachsie!
I am sorry you lost your furkid (But 18 years old? WOW!) I have had 3 previous dachsies - all of whom crossed the Rainbow Bridge at age 9. Now I have 3 red smooth minis - well, the youngest is more of a tweenie. Even if you want a young pup, don't overlook DRNA (Dachshund Rescue of North America) or C2CDR - I think - it's Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue - I've seen postings of a lot of dapples and piebalds lately.
