Alot of you all would ask for pics so I snapped a few to explain the spots i was referring to.And a tablespoon of baby oil keeps this at a stand still.

As you can see around her hip bones.

And under her arm pit area.

And this does appear spotty and is always a smudgy black look.

It almost looks like bruising. Rubbing baby oil makes it go away? :dunno: Do you know what it is? I must have missed the post asking about it. I don't know what it is....but isn't she going to be upset about the naked pictures!? :sofunny:

Hard to tell from the pictures - but the underarm areas look like bruises. Are you walking her in any type of harness that could be rubbing her there?

How often do you put baby oil on her? What are you feeding her?

She's such a good girl for letting you pose her. I love that little face....she's so pretty!! :hearts:

Look up Acanthosis Nigricans in dachshunds.

Good catch!! I think you may have diagnosed it. Here are a couple of links. We'll see what others think.

Has your vet looked at these skin problems? If so - what what his diagnosis?

How do you treat it? Do you give medication - treat with certain food or skin products?

I never heard of it before. Thanks for the information. Are Alfred and Percival from the same litter or family?

The vet says hers is under control not spreading and its similar to alligator skin.Yes baby oil helps it greatly and no she does not wear a harness at all.she never wears a leash as she stays right beside me.
