Hi everybody-I have had doxies for 49 years. Currently my gang of six is headed by Cloud, my big smooth red bitch. Then there is Muldoon (Mo). I'm here today because of Mo. He is having back problems and if he makes it through the rough times he is going to need wheels. Has anyone out there ever made any for their Doxie? I need specs for a set. I also am totally in love with Cloud's grown babies, Shenanigan and Wally (Admiral Zumwalt). My youngest ones are Mooney and Clara (brother and sister). All smooth red standards but Mooney who is a B/T. These babies are my life and I am very sad about Mo because we cannot afford 3-4 thousand for back surgery and I don't want to put him down unless he is in so much pain he can't stand it. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif

Hi Jo & Crue . . . Welcome to the board! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wavey.gif
I'm sorry to hear about Mo . . . I have no specs for "wheels" http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif, but someone else here may. Our oldest, Duck Butter, had "the surgery" about 2 years ago and fortunately, had a full recovery. It was only $2500 back then (still a lot of money!). Many Dachsie's on Wheels have a very full & active life! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
You may also want to post inquiries in the "Back Problems/Paralysis" forum.
Your six-pack sounds great and we look forward to hearing much more about them.
We're glad you're here,
Mark, Char, Top Spin, Duck Butter & Masse

Well that is quite a crew you have there. I have enough with one doxie and two Springers. Brutus is recovering from a back problem without surgery. I caged him, had him on predisone (sp?), beta-carotene, Ester C and Glusamine, and hydrotherapy. I took the advice of David Candline in his article printed in the following web site. digest http://www.dallas.net/~srwatson/dachback.html
It was a lifesaver, to say the least. Then you could read my story in the Health Problems section of this site, which began the Friday of Thanksgiving 2000, to see the results.
Welcome to the club and let us know how it goes with Mo!
