Hello!

I just joined this board and wanted to say hello. I have had two dachshunds in my lifetime. My first was Charlie, a female, born in 1995. She had two litters of puppies and in April 1997 when she had her second litter, I kept one of her offspring, a cutie named Katie. I still have Katie, she will be four years old on April 2nd. I cannot believe the little runt of the litter, who was as big as a mouse when she was born, is almost 4. The years have flown by. Sadly, Charlie passed away in March 1998. I had to have her put to sleep because of a back injury, which just got worse. The week she was injured I can honestly say was the worst week of my life. I suspect she must have came from a puppy mill, because of her poor health at a young age. Her death is something I doubt I will ever get over. As a Christian though, I feel I will see her again in Heaven someday. regradless of what people may say, there are passages in the Bible which seem to indicate that animals can make it to Heaven. Sorry for the long message, but reminising about Charlie is something I enjoy. And Katie, her daughter is doing very well and I am confident she will have a long and healthy life.

Welcome, jharmon1! Katie is almost exactly the same age as my Annie, who was born on March 29, 1997. Annie is a mini long-hair who enjoys (1) sleeping (2) eating cat poop (3) sleeping some more.
