I finally managed to "clean up" little Maisie. :banana02:
I took days of petting and brushing and cutting with nail-scissors ( ! ! !), but now she doesn't look so shaggy anymore. :cheer: :D She even let me use the stripping knife occasionally.
Next thing we have to work on is dremmeling toe-nails........

Great job! She looks super! I bought a dremel a few weeks ago and Badger seems to handle that a lot better than the nail clippers.

The Dremel is really the way to go !! I love that tool. So far she'll let me dremel her hind claws, but it's mostly the noise she's afraid of. I just keep it running next to her every now and then, and it seems to bother her less now. It's just a matter of time, I guess....... ;)
I dremel nails once a week, because my other two are therapie dogs, and I just feel it's safer when the nails are short and rounded at the tips. Just like that:

I just noticed that I pretty much document EVERYTHING concerning the dogs........ OOPS ! :D (How many people take pics of their dog's feet.)

Wow.....she looks amazing! :cheer:
Is she on the longer side...boy she looks extremely long in that first picture.
The weekly manicure looks wonderful. I wish Ally's nails looked that terrific.
She hates to have her nails trimmed so I can only manage once a month. I
have heard a dremmel works but I don't know if she'd tolerate that at all. :eekdevil:

Thanks for the compliments. We love her more each day, and she's such a sweetie trying real hard to overcome her fears. She's never been properly socialized and everything is new to her. She's very smart though, and she's even been to the nursing home with me once already. I'm not so sure if she'll ever be a therapy dog, but she sure put on a brave face during that one visit I did with her. (Had to drop off something and said "hi" to one resident. ;) )
She is a bit on the long side, and her favorite pasttime is jumping up and down the sofa help2: - not good ! :pullhair: There are a lot of things she still has to learn, and one thing's for sure: You don't eat TV-dinners with Miss Maise around. She'll steal your food right off the plate. :D (We're working on that though.......... ;) ) Let's just hope her back is strong and she'll be muscled up enough to support the length of her torso. She gained about four pounds +/- and looks pretty good.

Excellent job!!! She looks great!
I have 4 that could use toenails like that - when would you like them sent to you (you will then have all the colors in the rainbow of wires <G> - another wild boar, a black and tan, a red and a wild boar dapple)?

Once you get your dog use to a dremel you will love it and they will too.
my older pup will go to sleep while i do his nails. still working on my younger puppy who is good one week and then the next week :angeldevil: she acts like she has never have them done. I want to get a flex head for mine later, heard it was eaiser and with my problem child it might make it eaiser.

She looks wonderful! I trimmed my long hair this week but he doesn't look that great; he is cooler though and not as messy when he gets in the lake and then rolls in the mud!
