We had some sad news about Ivy Ann today.
Ruth took Ivy in to check on her. She has been listless and peeing more often again. So I thought she had another bladder infection. Well she had a large tumor on her spleen. Her white blood cell count was very high also. We decided to put her down instead of putting her through surgery etc. Her side was really hard and and Dr Randy said it was most likely cancer, like 9 out of 10 chance. He said she might only have lived 3 - 4 months after that. No guarantees. We are pretty upset right now and still in shock. I guess I just thought she would still hang around for a few years.
So our little Princess is up at the Rainbow Bridge. Now she gets to run free as a bird. No I don't' want to get another dog right now. I suppose some day. After having both Cory first then Ivy it is going to be impossible to replace them. The two were made out of the exact same mold. It was hard to lose all of Cory'z kid's over the years. But I had always been so glad that we had gotten Ivy even though at the time we didn't know she was a Cory Grandpupper. If there ever was a sweeter tempered dog I don't know of any. She did let the big dogs know that she wouldn't put up with them jumping on her. But other than grumble a bit at them she was very easy going.

Oh Sandy, I am so sorry to hear of Ivy's passing. It is never easy, but even more so when it is so sudden, without warning. Your story sounds very similar to my golden boy, Champ's, passing last year.
Our Bridge candle will be lit for Ivy tonight

Sandy,
I am so sorry-sad for you--and all DBB folk who have lost family members. I think I'm going to designate a place under the cherry tree in my backyard to go out to and send up wishes for those who go to the bridge and those they wait to have join them. I'm going out there now to send up for you and Ivy.

I"m so sorry to hear this. What a horrible shock it must have been to go from thinking - bladder infection she'll get better with antibiotics to having to help her to the bridge.
You were a good hoomom to let her go to the bridge and no make her suffer here.
:hug2: to you - your wonderful Ivy will be waiting for you.

Even though it is hard to loose Ivy Ann it helps to know that others understand and care. The worst thing is letting the boy'Z out to go potty. I always called her Tootel'zzz because she would take her own good time. Funny how some thing that used to aggravate me is missed the most.
:thanx: :thank-you3: for all the kind words and thoughts!
