Can you give puppers a bath when they have frontline on. I give mine a bath once a month then but frontline on, but they have been itching and I thought of giving them another one even though it is 2 weeks before time.

do either have any dandruff showing? I wonder if they are getting dry skin at all from the monthly baths? You doni't want to put to much front line on.
Others will know more... that was just my first thought

Bathing, in particular shampooing, will destroy the dog's natural ability to produce the skin-oils which are vital for "insulation" against the elements. Furthermore, it will dry out the skin and make it flaky.
My dane is now 7 1/2 years old and has had exactly three shampoos in his lifetime. (He doesn't smell bad either. ;) ) My shepherd is almost a year old and has never had a bath. She has the shiniest coat you've ever seen. :)
As far as Frontline goes: They say not get the dog wet for about three days after putting it on. :)

I bathe Zoe about once a month too, usually a week or so before putting Frontline on because I have heard the Frontline works better on "not newly cleaned" dogs. I also would wait 3 days at least before doing a bath after putting on Frontline. It is waterproof so you don't need to reapply it.
I am dealing with this right now too. I gave Zoe her frontline on Sunday and then Monday we hiked and she got a little dirty but I couldn't bathe her yet. So, I just used some water on a towel to wipe off her legs and belly where she got most dirty.

I agree with both assesments: bathing once a months isn't necessary, and you should wait a few days after a bath to apply the Frontline.

I do wait a few days before i apply frontline. if you don't give them a bath everytime you apply it wouldn't it just build up with the frontline??

Shouldn't be a build up. Think of it like car wax... it wares off after a while ;)
We don't put the flea/tick/etc stuff on but ever 6 weeks. Could be an option for you too.

You are not supposed to apply Frontline on a freshly bathed dog - it is on the instructions. I would think it would have to do with the natural oils in the dogs coat helping to distribute the application, where a freshly bathed dog would be stripped of much of those oils and the application would be condensed to one area.
Bob is right on the application timing as well. You don't have to apply every month, each treatment is supposed to last 45 days.

This is correct, although my vet recommends application every 30 days in our area. And you need to leave a 5-day window either before bathing or after bathing when applying Frontline. The body oils do distribute it over the body, as I understand it. The instructions should be on the package, as stated above.

. How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming?
FRONTLINE Brand Products remain effective for 30 days, even if a pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep the dog or cat from getting wet until the application area appears dry, usually 24 hours. If a FRONTLINE Brand Product is to be applied after a bath, make sure the pet is completely dry before application.

I usualy do wait 3 days, that is what the vet said. i was just wondering if you can bath them in between the 4 weeks. Would there still be enough frontline left on them to be protected?
