Dachshund in MS needs help

I have a friend who needs to get rid of her Dachshund. It is a red short hair female. She is 4 yrs old. My friend works too much and she can't take care of her dog anymore. Can anyone here help the dog? If so email me and I'll tell my friend....she doesn't have a computer. We are in north Mississippi.
