Hello all!

I need your help. . . .

My dear friend, Chloe, called me this morning with some heartbreaking news. Her precious little yorkie, Serena, was taken away to the bridge  . Serena was only 3 years old and this all happened so sudden. The vet is not sure of exactly what happened. Yesterday they said that they believed Serena had been stung or bit by something and had an allergic reaction, but when they called with the devastating news that she didn't make it they said they thought she had gotten into something that poisoned her. But everyone is at a complete loss for what she could have gotten into. . .she was kept inside and my friends were so careful to make sure there was nothing harmful around for her to get into. And when she was outside she was in their sight the whole time.

Serena was such a sweet little baby and a great joy!! Chloe (and I) are heartbroken by the loss of this precious furbaby!! Even though, I have been through this type of experience before (with Layla Lovebug) I am at a loss for words. I was hoping that you all could help give some encouraging words that I could pass along to Chloe :0204: .

Thanks,
Danielle

I am so sorry for their loss.

Would they consider having an autopsie done? If it was my dog, I would want to know what happened, just in case I wanted to get a new dog...

Oh no - and she was so young ! ! :(
I have to agree with Katja: I would have a necropsy done to find out what the cause of death is.

:candle: RIP, little Serena.:candle:

How sad....and only 3 years old. Could it have been a poisonous plant in the back yard. It only takes a little bite of some of them....:hug2:

I had a basset hound allergic to bees while he was outside one day he got stung and was on his death bed thank goodness he pulled through he was a lucky dog who cheated death several times.........I hope your friends will get to know what caused it and won't feel at fault please send her my deapest sympathies!

I'm so sad for Chloe and Serena. I am sending prayers in their and your direction. I echoe the sentiment on necropsy--I know it can't bring her back, but may help with her shock and in case she wants another furkid and has fears about what happened.

Hugs and rays to you and Chloe for Serena's sudden passing.
I hope she is able to consider the necropsy, as well. Not to freak anyone out but maybe a severe allergy to bees or wasps is in her family line, or maybe something like parvo, West Nile, or anything else? For a furkid that age, I'd want to know!

to hear of this tragic and sudden loss. They are certainly our babies and we don't ever expect them to be taken away at such a young age. I will be thinking of this family that they will get through this and be comforted by thoughtful and caring friends like you.
