View Full Version : wienergal asked me to come say hello new member here
hello to those i knew from the zone, Wienergal responded to a post i left there and told me where to find you all at. Hope you and your little ones are doing well. Glad to see familliar names on theese post.
i have missed reading all the stories about the little ones we adore so much.
To update whats been going on with me is going to be hard, I am still trucking moved up to northern california. but unfortunately minnie is no longer with me. Last month minnie was hit by a car and didn't survive the accident. Trucking just isnt the same as it used to be. I went to visit her today and the pain still hurts the same as the day i lost her. I think about her everyday and she will be missed dearly. When the time is right, I will be looking for a new trucking partner, so keep your ears open for any prospective road dogs that may be in need of rescuing. well got to go for now good to see you all
Wienergal thank you for refering me here. sorry it took so long to finaly make it here, wasnt quite ready when i got your e-mail.

http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wavey.gif HIYA, MIKE!! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wavey.gif
It's great to see you here! We all missed you when you dropped off the Zone!
So sorry to hear about Minnie. I'm sure you miss her terribly on those long drives.
One thing that has changed since you used to post on the Zone is that a lot of your old friends from there have gotten involved in rescue--including me. When you're ready for a new road buddy, give a holler! We've got a whole lot of wonderful dachsies and some of them would surely love a life riding with you in the big rig!
Welcome to the board!

Trucker Mike!!! I loved to hear stories of you and Minnie on the road. I am so sorry to hear about Little Minnie. She had a life full of love if that helps. I hope you stay and post more. When you are ready I know of several CA rescue reps who would love to help you find another traveling partner. So happy to hear from you again

Hey, Mike--here's a thought... Are you still long-hauling? Have you considered transporting rescue dachshunds for DRNA or the Dachshund Underground Railroad? You may not be ready yet to make a commitment to another dog, but it might be nice for you to have a short-legged companion on your runs.
Who knows? You might even find the perfect new buddy this way!
And no, I did NOT set all this up when I asked you to come over to this board!! I just happened to think of it after a long day of transporting yesterday......

I'm trying to introduce my little Cleopatra to the bulletin board, but apparently her owner is an internet moron!!

So glad you're here! Please, when you're ready for a new trucking partner contact Ralph at San Diego Dachshund Rescue. His phone number is at this link www.dachshundrescue.org (http://www.dachshundrescue.org) Be sure to call him and get him on the phone because that always gives him a better idea of how interested you are in a rescue and once you click with Ralph, you'll be holding a new dachsie before you know it!!
I'm SO sorry about Minnie. That just breaks my heart!!

Mike!
I remember you and Minnie from the Zone. Glad you found this wonderful board. So sad to hear about Minnie, but MY GOODNESS, what a life she must have had on the road with Dad. I just read about a doxie who was going to go to a trucker. What a great combination. When your heart heals a little, please consider giving yourself to another deserving dachsie. Welcome aboard from...
