New Dachsie Mommy Here

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself and my new baby dachsie. My name is Bobbie and Rocco (my 9 week old miniature dachshund) and I live in Austin, Texas. I've had Rocco for a little over a week now and I'm loving every minute of it. He is so sweet and loves to give kisses.

Welcome, Bobbie and Rocco! (I love his name.) Is Rocco a smooth-haired, long-haired, or wire-haired? I'm owned by Annie, a 4-year-old mini long-haired dachsie whose favorite activities are eating, sleeping, barking at the neighbors, and trying to score tissues off the coffee table.

Hi Lisa and Annie!

Rocco is a short/smooth-haired dachsie who also loves to eat and sleep. His favorite playtime is around 10:30 p.m. when my husband and I are usually getting ready for bed.

Have you had Annie since she was little?

Yes, we've had Annie since she was 8 weeks old. We met her when she was only 6 weeks! She's a naturally very timid dog, so I worked hard when she was a small pup to get her out to meet people. I used to lurk around outside shopping malls with her in my arms, hoping some dog lover would walk by. Actually everyone who walked by became a dog lover--she was such a cutie.

Hi Bobby and Rocco and welcome to the board. I'm Kathy and owned by two little boys: Rusty (male, short haired red, mini,13 mo. old) and Duffer (male, short haired b/t, 8 mo. old) and we are going to try and get another b/t, male sometime within the next 6 mo. Our boys just love each other and are so close. It sure helps as we are all gone all day here and they are good company for each other. But coming home to them is the most wonderful experience in the world. Some days I think we all work harder at seeing who can be the first one home than we do at work. I sure look forward to hearing lots about your little one and pics are always nice. Rusty and Duffer send both you and Rocco welcoming dashie kisses.

I have been lucky enough to meet our sweet little Annie and I have to say she is one of the most precious long hairs ever. Such a beautiful girl!

I am so looking forward to this! They are both Dapples like Opal.
