Elmo came from the pound unable to use his back legs, He is being cared for by Lawra who would love any advice you can give. You can see him on his My Space she made speacial for him. WWW.MySpace.com/RescueElmo

She should join Dodgerslist and I think there has been some advice in some of her threads. The main thing is to cratr right now-add supplements (its on some of the posts) and see the specialist I sent her addresses with 2 from Phoenix. Keep us up to date on the little guy.

How is Lawra taking care of him - Is he being crated 24/7 and has he seen a neurologist to be sure he actually will never walk again?

So many pups are healed with crate rest - medication and supplements. Are they doing that for Elmo?

Lawra can get lots of advice here. Why is she not posting instead of you? It would be better if the conversation was directly with her instead of second hand to her through you.

Thank you Marla!! You're wonderful for trying to help these babies in need. :hearts:

I just hope that she's getting the proper care for Elmo ASAP. These kinds of problems need the right care immediately. Hopefully she realizes that & is doing the right thing for him.

Marla I think its just a little mind twister,.... I caught on real fast--LOL cause I sent her info about a neuro clinic and a good surgeon in Phoenix.

While it helped because he just had a swimming class and she could see movement in his back legs. She posted videos of his progress on My Space.

I can't wait to check out the Myspace page... my furbaby is also named Elmo! :) So from one Elmo to another... hello :wavesmile:

I sent Elmo's owner an email asking to please send an update on Elmo & whether he has seen a neurologist - but nothing back yet.

To see pictures or videos on My Space - you have to register to be a member & I didn't want to be.

Thanks for sending the e-mail; I didn't want to register on My Space, either. I hope Elmo has seen a specialist by now!

She has an appt. I will check in later with My Space, I have an account my daughter made for me so I can log in. I think Gunners mom gave her a doctors name in Phx. The site said she made a appt. Seems to be on track

I gave her 2 names and want her opinion of how the doc's are just in case i ever need one. I got them of a Jounal I keep from Dodgerslist--I started keeping notes for my little guy when I got my beloved little Gunner and I now have Petunia also.

Just checked in with Elmo on My Space and found this in my mail box.:flowerysmile:

"We see him on Thursday. The doctors last name is Soterstrom. I don't know if it is a female or male doctor. I will keep you posted on how it goes!"

It is probably one of the Doc's from the Neuro clinic.

Hi Guys...it looks like I had a few threads running on Elmo so if you want all the updated info check out the thread under rescue. Thanks so much everyone for the concern and suggestions...I love this place!!!

Can also join the Disabled Dachshund Society at www.ourdds.org. It is a great resource for people with down furbabies.
