This is an interesting article I found about showing dogs in Germany. It doesn't really compare to the way dogs are shown in the US.

It seems to me this is a much more realistic approach to true conformation. I would love to watch a German dog show.

the (evil, shoe-throwing) Hawaii "clique" idea was to put a very young female handler in very short skirts because the male judges are like 90 years old.

:lol: that sounds right!! Except when I watch the dog shows on TV most of the handlers look to be middle aged to older women, with longer skirts & flat shoes! Ha ha ha on the judge!!
I read that article too & that would make sense to me. Wish I had gotten to a show in Germany when I was there - that would have been something to see. Thanks for posting that, Sabine.

:D All I can say is, that it is a very relaxed kind -of-thing. ;) Now Dachshunds go through a much more rigouros testing system. They have to proof themselves as earthdogs, birddogs, retrievers, foxhunters.........etc.etc. Tough life those working -dachsies have. :D
