Sophie was at a boarder's all weekend, I picked her up yesterday. The lady who kept her is a professional groomer with a great reputation, and also does in-home small-scale boarding. She had a professional groom before she went home (her first, as she is pretty low maintenence).

Part of the service was an ear cleaning. Her ears looked nice yesterday, but now both of them are bright red and feel warm. Is something wrong? They don't seem to be bothering her at all.

I put in a call to the lady and left a message, she had already closed for the day. Hopefully she will call back soon.

Sounds like she may have had a reaction to whatever she cleaned Sophies ears with. Maybe a call to your vet is in order just to be safe.

I noticed that when Cocoa has been barking, running, playing she'll get red ears. And even sometimes when she's chewing on a bone she'll get red ears and they feel warm. BUT at the same time, when she's having an allergic reaction to something they turn red and sometimes have hives. On her, they look like concentrated red dots that sometimes feel bumpy.

Did ur pupper eat anything new? Or maybe the stuff that she got cleaned with irritated her? Sorry this happened!! :rayz: :rayz: to get better!

Ears are a huge part of the dogs cooling system. If she was walking or playing or it's warm, and she is acting fine, I would just wait and see.

I agree. Jimmy's ears get very red and hot after a play session or anything like that. I worried at first, of course, as well.
