Hi again!

Recently I have started taking Wobbles & Velvet for nice long walks, and would like to continue to do so.....

The problem is the Wobbles is very aggressive to strangers and dogs that walk past us. Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to get him to stop barking/snarling at them?

For the most part, people usually laugh when they see my little dog think he's so tough, but I know his behavior is unacceptable. I know that he would have a fight with another dog if he got close enough.

The strange thing about it is when we have visiting people or dogs in our home, he does not carry on so much. It only happens on walks.

My mother has her Dalmatian "sit" and then she gets treats when people pass by. The goal is to get her to equate people and other dogs with treats - not scary stuff. She has improved a lot. She's almost getting to the point where when they start to pass people she *automatically* sits.

Don't yell or yank or scold your dog for barking at people and other dogs - it will reinforce in his mind that people and other dogs are bad and scary.

It will take practice - if you try it don't expect it to work overnight.<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm34.gif" border=0>
