of other dogs except for Emily who is very small. I don't know what to do since there isn't a place to take her to try to socialize her to other dogs. I tried yesterday for her to meet our neighbors dog Honey who is a golden retriever. Mitzi got all high pitched and it scared Honey (who is round a year and a half) started to growl at Mitzi. In two weeks I am going to try to introduce her to a friends dog who is very friendly and loves other dogs to play with. This dog is about Mitzi size so I'm hope all goes well.
Do any of you have suggestions to help us? I hope to get her into puppy classes but the women who is starting them up hasn't called me back <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm13.gif" border=0> so I guess I'll have to bug her machine until she does.

PS I'm not so sure it really scares her because all the while she is barking in this really high pitch her tail is wagging. Go figure.

Definitely go to a puppy class. I dont really have any advice on how to work on this, but a class with help her socialization building up her confidence.

I would second the suggestion of a class. I couldn't remember how old Mitzi is most puppy classes cut off at six months. The advice a good trainer can give you is well worth the cost of the lessons. Don't read too much int the tail wagging Tanner my shy agressive boy was wagging his tail when he charged a lab when we were out on our first walk. And no there is now way Tanner's charge could have been a play charge his lips curled back, teet showing and devil look in his eyes.

Good luck let us know if you would like any other suggestions.
