My 8 month old Schnitzel started out by chewing up his bed. He has completely destroyed two beds at this point. Now he has started chewing holes in my area rug (very expensive!) and my bedspread. Any tips on getting him to stop? I've tried Bitter Apple spray, but he usually just finds a new spot to chew. I give him bones, which he hides, and then goes back to the carpet!<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm43.gif" border=0>

Been there, done that (repaired expensive bedspread, repaired 2 dog beds)... My wire rescue girl LuLu came with the problem... mainly happened when she was tired (in the dog bed or in the people bed). Started giving her chews (a lot of them -- different types: cornstarch ones, raw hides, real bones), especially to go to bed with. They were much better to chew on (may have been nervousness or insecurity). She grew out of it in a couple months, but now she takes her booda rope to bed with her at night and no more holes. Good Luck! Rena
