We are in the Denver area until sometime around Thanksgiving (keeping my :crsfnger: that we can move here permanently!). I was curious if anyone here also lives in the Denver area? I'm looking for a great vet with a good understanding of the problems that doxies face. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :D

I don't live in Denver but I did live up in Estes Park a few years back! I LOVED living in Colorado, I am crossing my fingers that you can stay there too!

You might check out the Columbine Dachshund Club see if they can help you find a Dachsie knowledgeable Vet. Here is the link.............

Enjoy your time in Colorado, there is so many great things to do and the Front Range is breathtaking this time of year!

Well I'm on up I-25 in Fort Collins. The Denver metro area is large enough that you will most likely want to find a primary vet close to where you end up living if you make the move. One place very well respected down there for their ability to deal with neurological issues is Alameda East of Animal Planet Emergency Vets fame. When my Aggie had to go in for emergency surgery back in 200 they would have been the backup if the CSU VTH here in Fort Collins hand't been able to take her. We now have another excellent neuro clinic in nearby Loveland.
