How about a big rally - I hesitate to use the word protest - at the Kutztown (lancaster) fair this summer? Who could we get with clout to head up this idea? How about Kim Townsend or Lee Wheeler? - g

Kutztown isn't located in lancaster county Geogette. Although, the whole this is centered around Amish things.

Hmmmm. How to do this without a legal battle or worse......

Making claims on Amish as a whole would open a BIG can of worms, not to mention possible backlash. However, I read an article once about a woman that bought a lemon car once. She told the dealership if she did not get her money back she would protest in front of the dealership with big signs during a big weekend sale. The dealership said they would come back with a law suit charging slander. She contacted a lawyer and she found out the dealership could can and will sue her, and win. What to do? Stand on the other side of the road with a big sign saying "ask me about the car I bought from this dealership". This way she is not blerting out protest and opinion (slander) that would get her in trouble. She just said, "I bought a car from that dealership and here are the details on how I was treaded" and handed the customer a paper going into facts on what happend, not that the car was a lemon or the salesman lied or the owner is an ***, just what happend.

In less than an hour the money was refunded.

How about getting t-shirts made up saying on the back, "Ask me about Lancaster County Puppy Mills". Walk around enjoy the day a bit (it is nice) and hand who asks you a detailed paper on all of the puppy mill activity.

Kutztown is only one of MANY fairs that go on and this could be used many times.

Just a thought............

If someone can work out the details...we will be there!

I did write to Thomas Baldrige, the president of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. I never heard back.

I like the T shirt idea. I might get one that says ask me about Texas puppy mills and wear it at our big flea market in Canton, TX. They have a pavillion where they sell the pups called "Puppy Heaven". I keep trying to figure out a way to sneak in and paint "Puppy Hell" over it without getting caught.
