I thought this up this weekend, while making Puppy Pops for Maisy and Larry.

The Pops are super easy--combine 1 can pure pumpkin with 3/4 to 1 cup of lowfat, all natural plain yogurt. Mix until well blended. Spray a couple of ice cube trays (if you don't have trays, you can use styrofoam egg cartons, or you can just dollop them on wax paper on a cookie sheet) with canola oil, then drop a generous tablespoon of mixture into the cubes. Freeze overnight, then pop out (should come out easy if you sprayed with oil!) and store in a plastic baggie in the freezer.

I haven't yet made the pie, I need a mini pie tin, but here is the idea:

Grind up dog biscuits or dry kibble until fine crumbs in a food processor (if you don't have one, you can put them in a sturdy freezer bag, and whack them with a meat tenderizer or rolling pin), making about 1/4 cup. Add 1 tablespoon water and 1 teaspoon canola oil (or any dog friendly oil), blend together, then press into the bottom of a mini pie tin. Fill with aforementioned yogurt/pumpkin mixture, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set. Voila! Your pup has his or her own Pup-kin pie to enjoy while the family has Thanksgiving dinner! (You could even garnish it with plain green beans and bits of turkey meat for an extra special treat!)

When I get around to making this (might not be until Thanksgiving Day), I'll post a pic.

I'll be trying that tomorrow! I've never given them pumpkin before so this should be interesting.
