Annie's granny

I've been talking to my husband for several weeks about the postings here in the adoption/rescue part of the board. Although we've probably taken leave of our senses (how could one little dog have such an impact on two grown humans, I'd like to know) we decided we would like to contribute in some small way to dachshund rescue. Starting slowly, of course. (Yes, Mandy - I can hear you laughing from here.<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm42.gif" border=0> ) Though I wish we could foster, I don't think we'd be very good at that in this point of our lives. (We're still taking lessons from all of you on how to best civilize Annie, the pup we got right before Christmas.) But, we can offer our "chauffeur" service, post flyers, use the phone, etc. Anyone know who we should contact in Arkansas? We live in the northwest part of the state, only 30 minutes from Branson, Missouri - so could possibly help in the lower part of that state, as well.

Michelle! Good for you! By the way...I didn't laugh at you...but I do have this great big, knowing grin on my face http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif I will e-mail you privately about a DRNA contact in Arkansas.

Michell, we will be thrilled and delighted to have you help out in whatever way you can. Transport is always a HUGE need, so if you can drive dogs, that will be a great help. And you will find it very rewarding, believe me!

Would you consider moving to NC? Transport _is_ such a big important part of rescue. This is terrific news. I believe the reward for your first successful rescue is a big steak dinner. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/bounce.gif
Not for you! For the dogs. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif
A hearty pat on the back to both of you,
