I have recently joined the Dachshund Resuce and am eager to begin my work. However, myself, along with another rep in NJ, can not foster, and therefore are hesitant to start searching for resuces.

We need your help! Can you take fosters into your home until they find their forever home? I can provide you with all of the details, please contact me on this board, or at hans_bean@yahoo.com

Hi,
I'm the other NJ rep. Heather & I met & decided that foster homes are our most urgent need. Heather, Pamela (Wienergal) suggested asking vets - what a good idea & I will do. Also I'm adverising at school and in local churches - I'm of course not minimizing the required devotion.
Good luck to us all - Georgie
PS: Heather reminded me so much of Karen (Mickamack)- young brunette, married 4 years, hard worker, nice, devoted...
Speaking of which, where are you Karen?

Hi Georgette, aren't you supposed to be teaching????

I posted an ad on my company e bulletin board and actually found someone who wants to adopt! Yippee, maybe I will place a pupper!

If you do come up with someone, let me know, I am supposed to pick up a 6 year old in Patterson this weekend and transfer to PA.

It was nice meeting you last week!

Hello, I have a question. I live in South Jersey (just south of Trenton) and I have a question about fostering. Me and my girlfriend are looking for a dog and I have been researching dachshunds. I was wondering if fostering would be a good way to see if this is the dog for us.

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment now, but we are looking to get a house by the middle of 2001. I work 2 days a week (24hr shifts) and she works Mon-Fri 7am to 4pm. I also would use a dog walker that my brother uses if need be.

I am unsure if an apartment is ok for fostering. I figured if we can help one dog then at least we are doing something. I would hate to rescue on and find out this is not the dog for us and end up returning the dog. Am I making sense? I would appreciate some help in making this decision. Thanks!

Hi Mark,

I have replied to you at your excite address. Sometimes long responses don't open well on this site.

Heather, I checked my excite e-mail and didn't find anything yet. Maybe I gave the wrong address. It is mark1621@excite.com. Thanks for replying.
