A cross-post, and a nice idea....
On my Doberman list we are having a candle ceremony on Dec 22 at 7pm to show solidarity for all Rescue animals and to honor those at the Bridge.
We would like to get as many candles glowing as possible. So if any of you want to join, just light your candle so the glow will reach across the world. This is an honor to all lost, misplaced, and hopeful rescues out there.
My candles will be glowing for my Rott'n girls waiting at the Bridge,Katie and Ubu.
Thanks so much

A lovely idea that we'll participate in. I also cross posted so we should have lots of light glowing in the darkness. - georgette

Ill have to rush home to make the official time but I'll give it my best shot. I don't know if you are aware but every Monday night at 9:00 EST(?) there is a candle lighting to remember dachshunds who have passed on.

Wow,
Got my candles lit already and Fritz tried to open his present (it's his birthday), and Gretta grabbed it from him. She is the Lady of the house and the boss! He is 10 years old and she is 6 years old and he lets her do anything. That's great! I mean that the guy lets the girl do what she wants. Maybe thats alittle the reason I am still married. I mean 24 1/2 years and holding. Candles for the sheltered and unwanted! And the dogs who have passed on may very well be in Heaven. I saw Jesse Duplantis video about heaven and he saw it in a dream. I'm not so sure. Candles for me, for now I know I will rescue from the shelter before going to a pet shop! Thanks to all at this site for their support and love.

Just about candle lighting time - I'd better go and gather them up. Sometimes it's neat to set them inside the fireplace.
Today at school all of the offices were holding little get-togethers and I knew I'd see lots of people - so - I formatted a nice little explanation of the candle lighting tribute-made copies-and passed them out to kind-hearted partygoers. I got lots of warm response so NJ will be glowing.
OK, I'm off-line to gather candles - g
