Question about AKC papers

I received my doxie from an individual who had papers on her female, but not her male. They are both registered, but she said her ex lost the papers. I would like to get them on my dog, but am not sure if it is possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

No you can not get AKC papers you should be able to get ILP reg. to put your dog in Obediance,Go to Grounds,Tracking and Agiliy but you can not do Field or Conformation.
