I have a "grooming question"..........Tucker grows really long whiskers - everywhere (a real manly man LOL) - on either side of his nose, under his chin, above his eyes - just everywhere!! I think that they look ugly; but, the groomer doesn't ever take them off. Should she be taking care of this? Does anyone else's pup have whiskers gone wild? Can I cut them off totally or should I trim (?) them? It must be the puberty thing - I've just noticed it within the last couple of months. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm just having a hard time picturing long whiskers as abnormal - but then again I couldn't wait for her fuzzy wire coat to grow in:)

You can trim them if you want to. If your paying some one to groom your dog they should do it the way you request or find a better groomer. It doesn't matter what they think your paying them to do a job. JMHO:Sun2:

Why would you trim a doxies whiskers ? Don't dogs use those whiskers as a guide ? Or is that just cats ?

Maybe they are long because he his a LH? Dragon has short stubby whiskers, but hes a smoothie, so I dunno. Nadra my cat has exceptionally loooooong whiskers, and I think they look kinda neat, she loves it when we smooth them back, she just purrs and purrs.

Its a great excuse to post some new Tucker pics though! Lets see those whiskers!

I clipped Mocha's whiskers off once and I didn't like it. They give her personality........plus they stand out to the side whenever she putting her sniffer to use. lol.
