I had been debating the last couple of months about getting a doxie puppy. Somebody who my daughter works with doxie had another litter of puppies back in January and again offered us one if we wanted it. I was thinking seriously about getting one of the black and tan little girls.
Well, yesterday on the Adopt a Pet segment on the evening news there was this soild black and very skinny male doxie from the Animal Control Center that needed a home . I went and picked Elvis up this morning. He has a shiny coat but he's nothing but ribs. He has a crooked tail and a UTI but he's appears to be sweet and hardly barks at all. He's a year & a half old.
It's been a long day. Elvis (who is neutered) has done nothing all day but try and hump Oscar and all Oscar has done is bite on Elvis' back legs (he does this to Misty and Stumpy too).
I'll be posting pics in just a bit.

I posted pics of Elvis in the Brag Book. I hope he gets over this trying to hump Oscar very, very soon. It's driving me insane.

Thanks for the suggestion about the spray bottle. I've been trying it all evening. Elvis and Oscar actually got to playing a bit this evening and were doing zoomies through the trailer. Everytime I go to give OScar some attention though Elvis pushes his way between me and Oscar so he can get the attention. I guess that's normal?

we never even thought of that when the bigger male cat would hump the smaller male cat on a regular basis...I think they both enjoyed it anyway, LOL. :D

The biting of the legs I see here all the time with Clyde and Camilla. The humping too...Camilla humps Clyde for dominance and he started doing a little of it too. It's sort funny but they get along even in spite of the biting, growling and wrestling. I'm SO excited for you. I saw your pix and Elvis is just a :hearts: :) Good luck with him. He's precious.

Elvis stayed with my mom next door last night but he came back over here as soon as he got up this morning. He's got that cough (I posted about it in the general health forum) but he seems fine otherwise. Him and OScar haven't had anything to do with each other so far this morning. Oscar has been in my lap and Elvis has been on the sofa.

Yep, that's normal. Sounds like Elvis is trying to establish his alpha-ism already! It will take time, and they'll work it out. Hang in there! :hug2: And thank you for saving his life!!!
