Dragon and I had an AWESOME day at the park! We alternate between two that are close to our house. The one we went to today, Liberty Park, has a miniature scale playground of Salt Lakes canyons and rivers. Its in the center of the park, and kids and dogs LOVE to play in it. Its really pretty neat. Dragon always wants to watch, and he'll sniff the water, but he's never joined in before. Well, he was SO brave today!! He went right out on one of the little bridges, and I was totally shocked but then he actually jumped in! Its probably about a foot deep, and he was SO suprised lol.... He swam to the edge and got out, but I guess he liked it because he kept going back in! It was one of the cutest things ever, and there was another lady there with her little cairn terrier, and Dragon and the terrier were playing in the water together, he had a blast.
I'm just not sure if I should give him a bath now though? I just barely gave him a bath 3 days ago, and he gets dandruff when he gets bathed too much. I wiped him down with some baby wipes, do you guys think thats ok, or should I give him a scrub down? I'm an overprotective mom and I'm not sure how clean that water is :faint:
Next time we go, I am bringing my camera though, bc it was SO cute!

I just read that the water is treated to keep bacterias and such down. This is just as bad for his skin probably as being bathed too much? I dont know... my last dog hated the water.

Wow it sounds like you and Dragon had a BLAST :wahooo: I wish you had taken pics. If you have a great quality shampoo it wont hurt to bath him just this once if he is really smelly or dirty if not a good wipe down or some dogg deoderiser will do the trick!

I'd give him a bath, no doubt!! Even though Scootman doesn't sleep with us since he hurt his back, he does "visit" for cuddles... and nothing worse than a houndy hound on my pillow!

Sounds like Dragon had so much fun at that park! I would probably bathe him, if it were me. But, then again, I tend to be an overprotective mommy.

If he doesn't smell I would just rinse him really well with plain water. Durng the summer when the boys swim in the pool I just rinse them after they get out to wash any chlorine off. When we are at the beach I also just rinse each time to get the sand and salt water off.

This was a couple years ago but you can see all the sand in his coat. We would go out several times a day and rinsing each time kept him nice and clean.

Thanks!! Good to know a rinse off is enough! Especially if Dragon is going to start getting in the water every time, we go there like 3 times a week at least!
Love the pictures!!!
