As you can see, she's a miniature (10lbs.) clear red, one-year-old puppy!!

She's intelligent, very spunky, extremely feisty, and SUPERCUTE!! She's also :bounce3: for balls! She lurrrves playing with toys...she's gonna wear us out! :bliss:

She was turned into rescue by a couple in their 80s who couldn't take care of her anymore--they'd gotten her when she was a puppy, and she was too energetic for 'em. Also, she needs to be an only dog, which is fine by us!

HOWEVER, she needs a new name!! Why?
Well, currently she shares my 1st name, and I think my husband would get confused :lol:

I went with Winnie. I think I'm influenced because when I was growing up, our next door neighbors had a dog named Winnie that I just loved (she was some kind of little terrier).

I love her coloring too--the clear red gives her the liver colored nose & nails, like chocolate&tans have. And I love that it's such a deep red! She's our own little red-head girl (I'm rather fond of them...I love all the Weasleys in Harry Potter!) That's one reason I thought of Molly--cuz she could be a Mollywobbles.

We won't be getting her until the week of June 11th--we have to pack, move, unpack, clean, settle...then I'm going to Phoenix for a week to visit family, friends, and my mom's dachshund Gabby...then I come back and finish settling & buying all the necessary stuff (and fun extras too :) ). We'll also be doing a home check that week, and then we can get her! :wahooo:

DH & I have talked...and talked...and talked--he's rather embarassed that I keep asking him to say the various names in different voices: stern, nice, come, happy, excited, etc. ;)

We are down to two:

Molly, aka Mollywobbles
and
Lili, or Lilian--suggested in the Dachsie bulletin board, & reminds me of Lily, Harry Potter's mom.

huh...there's a pattern here--both red-headed feisty women in the HP universe.

But which one?! We like them both! DH is partial to Lili, but I can't decide, and most of our friends like Molly! What do y'all think?

Yea!! A new liver nosed doxie on the board!!! My Schroeder is very "sassy"...full of...well never mind, just lets just say he's a stinker for an old man pushing 10 this year. Schroeder has the liver nose and nails and his eyes are very light brown/red - I just love em!! Looking forward to seeing lots of pics of your sweet Lili :hearts:

If our digital camera is back from repairs by then I'll be sure to take lots of pics :) I had to borrow a friend's camera this week in order to take pics of Lili, but it was worth it :D

Gabby is near & dear to my heart--the first dachsie I ever bonded with. I miss her tons, and would love to take her to Cali to stay with us, but she's almost completely blind at 16, and has lived most of her life in the same house in AZ--so the family feels it is better for her to stay there. I just have to settle for good visits!
