I aim for brushing my crew's teeth 3 times a week. I admit, sometimes I only get it done twice a week though.
I also have some tooth scalers and I use them if I can see tartar.
They also get greenies about 1 every 5 days and they get marrow bones at least monthly, sometimes more frequently.

I guess we are obssessive. We brush Chief's teeth ever night followed by a plaque remover called "breath friend."

before the other special-needs had to be done like expressing, glands, hydrotherapy...and also when on the go: diapers changed and puppytushies wiped...

Teddy has some pretty repulsive breath. I try to brush his teeth as often as I can. Boy does he hate getting his teeth brushed! His breath has somewhat improved since I started brushing his teeth but is still in the long run from fresh (good smelling) kisses.
I also noticed that my fiance's dachsie Beau has some bad smelling breath just like Teddy's. Is the bad breath a Dachshund thing, or maybe I am looking into this WAY too much?

are so tight she gets food particles trapped back in the corners of her mouth. If I forget to brush her teeth after a meal she will remind me. She nibbles at my fingers and tries to manuever them back to the back of her mouth. "Hey, Mom! Go get the toothbrush and toothpaste or I will use your finger!" She is such a goof. :D (She tried to get Daddy to do it for her the other day. hee hee hee)

Lewis is still little and chews a lot of bones. We go to get our boosters next week so I will probably find out form the vet what he recommends:) Likely I will start anyway, as I would hate to have his teeth pulled out when he is older because of lack of brushing on my part.

We never brush our puppers teeth - rather they get marrow bones every couple of days. I was amazed at how much tartar was removed from Otto's teeth after a couple of weeks with bones! When we first got him his canines were brown with plaque and tartar - now we have pearly whites. Nature's toothbrush for dogs!

Wow, Juliette that's great! Where do you get the marrow bones? Do you just ask the butcher in the meat dept, or is this something you purchase another way?

Krista: PLEASE take your dogs off of Greenies! They are WAY too dangerous for your furkids to have.

We got a doggi tooth brush where you put dog tooth past on it and they chew on it. you put the tooth past far in the tooth brush so they keep chewing it to get the good stuff. It helps with bad breath too!:hearts:

I clean teeth based on need. I use the Oxyfresh Oran Hygiene Solution in their water and feed a good quality kibble to keep the plaque down on the teeth. I also use the Oxyfresh Oral Gel once a week or as needed for bad breath and to clean the teeth

We did try... Really.
Dragon is IMPOSSIBLE. When we try to either brush teeth, or clip nails.. wow. He starts to spiral his body (HOW can a dry dog suddenly become so slippery???? Kick all his legs, thrash his head, and he screams like we are burning him before we even TOUCH him with toothbrush/nail clippers. So... now we have to take him in to get his nails clipped, and I give him CET chews and raw bones and hope thats enough to clean his teeth.
THE LITTLE MONSTER!! :tantrum2: Is anyone elses that big of a drama case ?

I want to be able to do it daily but I'm taking baby steps. Sammy has never had his teeth brushed and when i tried for the first time it has harsh, but he didn't bite me. Macy is small so she really had no fight, but she tried.:funny:
