i just wanted to thank the people who took the time to lend some helpful tips for me and pogo. I ve since tried some of the suggestions and the stuffed animal in pogos bed is working wonders. We are still having a very rough time toilet training her, she still goes all over our floor. If we take her for a walk she will do her business outside but when we walk back into the house she will do her bussiness again on the floor!!! I dont understand but it feels like she knows what she is doing because as soon as she pees on the floor she runs and hides!! Im starting to get a bit frustrated. Is it true that daschies are stubborn?? Anyone out there have a stubborn daschie?? thanx talk to ya soon

Dachsies stubborn? :lol: Yes! :yikes: Every one that has a Dachsie has a very stubborn pupper(s).

Take a few minutes and read the archives in the Housebreaking forum you will find A LOT of great advice!!!!

BTW . . . we've moved this post to *that* forum so you will get the maximum results on your dilemma. :)

It sounds like it's back to Potty Training 101 for Pogo. She should be accompanied outside at regular intervals (if possible, every few hours to begin with). Use a command (like *go potty*) over and over until she does. Reward her with LOTS of praise and, if you want, a treat like a Baby Carrot. Make going out to go potty a fun time with a sing songy excitement in your voice so it is something she thinks is FUN. Do not react to her *accidents* in the house unless you catch her in the act.

Whatever command words you use for anything . . . make sure everyone in the family is schooled in using the same ones for the same thing.

thanx alot mark i will definatly take her out in aliittle while and make a game out of it! it'll be hard becuse i feel like knocking her out but i love her to much so ill just keep on and be persistent! i will check out the housebreaking board right now.
