So my puppy has fleas. I'm taking her to the vet today and I'm going to get Frontline. The breeder had her on Revolution I think. I guess she due for it again sooner than I thought.

After giving her the frontline should I give her a flea bath or anything too?? She is 17weeks now.

Fleas suck. Sammy got fleas and it was awful. I had to treat everything in my apartment. Someone on here suggested that I use borax laundry soap. I sprinkled the powder over my carpet, bought a cheap broom and brushed the soap into the carpet and let it set overnight and then vacuumed it up the next morning. I also got some spray from petco and sprayed all my furniture. I haven't had any problems since.

I don't think you have to give a flea bath once you get the treament stuff but I'm not sure. Someone on here will know about that! :D

I hope your baby gets rid of all those itchy fleas!!

Here are some get rid of those nasty flea :rayz::rayz::rayz::rayz:

No bath after the frontline, otherwise you are just washing it back out. Just read the instructions. They are pretty clear about how many days not to bathe the dog before and after application.

I got rid of most of my carpet a long time ago and we have vinyl wood look flooring... Borax Laundry soap dryes then out and works great :cheer:

My guys are on Frontline plus but the Fleas are soo bad here it only helps.

My Underdog was so bit up last week and I gave him a bath and more Frontline and he is better. There are also natural drying agents you can put on the carpet.. i do not have the name right in front of me but I will let you know what it is... Fleas can not survive with Borax

Is it safe to dust their bedding with borax? Might be a stupid question..sorry...just thinking it might help.

If you can sprinkle the Borax on their bedding but not let it get inhaled by them, it's okay - I think I'd just do it around their bed, rather than take a chance on them inhaling it. It's not too good for their lungs. I sprinkle Borax, sweep it into the carpet real well with a broom, leave it a couple of hours (with the kids outside of the house), then vacuum it up really well. You may have to do that a couple of times!

Great advice, now where do I get Borax? I have never heard of it, will the grocery store or Walmart/Target carry it?

Borax uxually lives along with the laundry additives like washing soda, Chlorox 2 brighteners etc.

If the pup has fleas you may want to take a fecal sample to the vet. Dogs get tapeworms via fleas. So she may need treatment for tapeworms as well.

It's called 20 Mule Team Borax and it's not really a soap - it's a laundry booster.

Find it at your super market in the laundry section. It's been around for years & years. It takes care of all the bugs & fleas. I never use an exterminator & I live in Florida.

After the first initial use - I just sprinkle it into the carpets - sweep it in with a broom and leave it overnight while we all sleep. In the morning - vacuum. Once or twice a year now..is all I need to do it.

I learned to use fresh garlic every day at her dinner mixed with some wet food and she has no fleas also u can use brewers yest it works good to.There are a lot of herbal natrual stuff that works and has no pesdicids because those pesdicides are not good for you or your dog they say there is a link to that and cancer in dogs look up some natural stuff i will try to find a site to show what stuff to use.
