Housetraining does take a while with Doxies I learned 4 years ago when Gabby came into my life. I crate trained her (in fact she still crates during the day) but at first she didn't care, she'd just go in her crate! Even in the really small crates, she had no problem "going" in her own bedding, it was horrible. :nono: Finally she became intolerant of her filth I guess lol. Now she's very good about holding it and only has accidents when I don't get to the door fast enough. I love the vertical mini blinds, she just moves them around and makes a racket when she's waiting for me! Much more obvious than when we just had the drapes or when she scratched at the door.

Anyways, on to my question. This little pooch will just pee ALL OVER THE PLACE when people come over! As soon as someone reaches down to greet her she just goes all over. Sometimes this happens when I'm trying to get her harness on to go for a walk too, she just gets TOO excited. :jacks: I was just wondering if this is common for doxies and if there is anything that can be done to stop it? Thanks!

:sarcastic What a doxie that does the piddle thing for friends. :o

Don't worry your not alone! Some of them seem to get "it". While others just don't. Ok not any good advice, but I have one problem dog and if I don't accept his little accidents. Well I'm just resigned to getting out the cleaning supplies. He used to go in his crate all the time. He will go to the door, but goes outside and forgets what he was out there for.
When my mini doxie was still here he would do the water fountain for people he really liked. It was one of those things you just had to get him outside before he would say hello!
Good Luck it sounds like you've come a long way!
