Conner has always been a fussy and stubborn eater. He is a good eater when he does eat but he will only eat in the evening or late evening. He doesnt eat in the morning and therefore he gets sick during the day and throws up. He has done this since I have had him. He doesnt get sick everyday but it does happen. I feed him dry kibble but he also loves wet food on occasion. I cant leave the food down for him because Sayde my cat will go crazy and eat it. Is there anything I can do to stimulate his appetite in the morning so he will eat. I was thinking about putting gravy over his kibble or mix it with canned pumpkin but I am not for sure if it will work. He does eat good but not in the morning and then gets sick because nothing is in his stomach. Any advice would be appreciated. I am also adding a new doxie puppy next week to the bunch so I am excited about that.

Shannon,
I'm assuming the amount Conner eats at night is sufficient to maintain his weight? So if that's not an issue, your goal must be to split the amount into two meals?
Yes, canned pumpkin or green beans does wonders for the 6pack's appetites. :)
They have one meal a day at 3 PM. They also get 1 Baby Carrot each in the AM and 2 small dog bisquits each in the evening to keep their tummys from being empty. It sounds like it's just a matter of finding the right schedule and combination for Conner.

Mark-
Yes that is what I am trying to do is split the meals. I do give him a treat in the morning but it doesnt seem to work. I work 8 hrs a day so when I get home is usually when I feed him. He does eat enough to maintain his weight.
I think I might try mixing a little kimble with canned pumpkin. I never heard of green beans. Would those be canned? I also didnt think that you can give them baby carrots but I might try that as well. Thank you so much for the advice

Green beans are very good as they have nutritional value if they are cooked and add little calories while filling up the dog. If you get canned, make sure it is with NO salt.
Shannon,
Yes, I used canned. 5 or 6 green beans per meal w/a little of the juice sprinkled over the kibble. I try to guage it where the juice and GBs come out even so when the GBs are gone so is the juice. As Loren said . . . get the unsalted. :)
Let us know how it goes . . .

Maybe when the new puppy comes his eating habits will change.
:) Sometimes when there is a new puppy in the picture my dogs are even worse than ever, wanting to eat the other dogs food. But I have 3 little pigges when it comes to my doxies and eating. If I spill the cavy's food they are right there to eat it up and beg for more. (no I don't give it to them) BUT they do inhale any that falls on the floor. Cat food is even better.
Good luck, if he acts healthy, a nice shinny coat and clear looking eyes and general good condition don't worry to much. But your vet is the one to give him a check up. When you take the new puppy in I would just take him a long for a look see. ;)
My guys and girl also like the baby carrots. One of them in the past has been known to steal corn on the cob. Yup she ate it right off the cob, raw, and was so proud of herself. ;)
Keep us posted on Conner and let us know about the new puppy.
